Booking & Cancellation Policy

Lesson Scheduling & Cancellation Policy

Our lesson program operates on reserved weekly time slots. When a rider commits to a regular lesson time, that space is reserved specifically for them, along with the appropriate coach and lesson horse.

Monthly Commitment & Payment

Riders who wish to maintain a regular weekly lesson time are required to commit to their scheduled lessons for the entire month.

Lesson fees are billed monthly and are due at the beginning of each month or within 7 days of the invoice being issued.

Planned Absences

We understand that vacations, appointments and other commitments are sometimes known in advance.

If you know that you will be away for a scheduled lesson, the office must be notified no later than 7 days prior to the end of the preceding month. With proper notice, the lesson can be removed before your monthly invoice is prepared.

For example, if you know you will be away for a lesson in November, the office must be notified at least 7 days before the end of October.

Missed & Cancelled Lessons

Effective October 1, 2026, Maple Lane Farms does not offer make-up lessons for rider cancellations or missed lessons.

Once monthly invoices have been prepared, scheduled lessons are considered committed and are billable regardless of attendance. Missed or cancelled lessons are not eligible for a make-up lesson, credit, refund or deduction from a future invoice.

We still greatly appreciate as much notice as possible if you are unable to attend your lesson, even when the lesson remains billable. This allows our coaches to adjust their schedules and prevents horses from being brought in, prepared or left waiting unnecessarily.

Cancellations by Maple Lane Farms

If Maple Lane Farms must cancel a scheduled lesson due to unsafe weather, facility conditions or another circumstance on our end, an appropriate make-up lesson or credit will be provided.

By maintaining a regular weekly lesson time, riders and families acknowledge and agree to the above scheduling, cancellation and payment policies.

Thank you for helping us maintain a consistent, well-organized lesson program for our riders, coaches and horses.

Weather cancellations:

To keep our horses comfortable - when the temperatures are above 30º c or below -15º c, we will be teaching stable management, healthcare,  and other “un-mounted” lessons to our students.
